History about SCHMETZ developments
Since 1945 we have been developing and optimising modern, environmentally friendly, energy saving vacuum furnaces.
1945 SCHMETZ was founded as a manufacturer of various industrial furnaces in Menden, near Dortmund, Germany. The company soon focussed on the production of vacuum furnaces that were subsequently developed with close contact to the customer to increase the capacity of each furnace and to improve process results. With its first overpressure gas quench furnace and the two-direction cooling system SCHMETZ quickly became market leader in 1982.
In 1987 the convective heating process developed by SCHMETZ itself set the industry standard. In the late 1990s SCHMETZ GmbH was the first manufacturer to introduce a 2 chamber gas quench furnace, the *2Plus* model. In 2003 the system *Cool Plus* was added for a process with integrated „sub zero“ treatment to optimise metallurgical results regarding retained austenite.
Shortly we were member of the biggest international heat treatment group – also being a customer of us. In 1999 the Metall Technologie Holding was founded which includes today the companies B.M.I., HUISEN, IVA, MAHLER, RIVA and SCHMETZ. The MTH group with its sister companies in Lyon (F), Dortmund, Plochingen, Menden (D), Shanghai (PRC) and Swiebodzin (PL) is engaged in the development, sale and production of industrial furnaces.
We were the first company to use multi-directional cooling (SCHMETZ SYSTEM *2R*), convective heating (SCHMETZ SYSTEM *FUTUR*), heating and cooling in separate chambers (SCHMETZ System *2PLUS*) as well as the integrated "sub zero" system (SCHMETZ SYSTEM *COOL PLUS*) in practice.
Recently we developed the SCHMETZ system *eSS* - energy saving system.
Surely also standards like NADCA or AMS can be respected.
Responding to current market requirements the continuously developed SCHMETZ systems set today more than ever the standard for innovative vacuum furnace concepts.
Our engineers know that their long-time experience in furnace applications and all associated metallurgical aspects as well as their understanding of the individual requirements of our customers is the basis for market adapted and optimum designed furnaces.
SCHMETZ -systems
The SCHMETZ SYSTEM is based upon a modular-kit system. We construct your individually designed vacuum heat treatment plant in a modular fashion to meet your requirements.
The advantage to you:
is that you are getting a tailor-made production-unit adapted for your special application with exactly defined capabilities.
